Born in New York City, Joan L. Cannon has lived
most of her adult life with her husband in a village in Connecticut. There they reared their three children with numerous
pets--dogs and cats, horses, tropical fish, and canaries, along with the native creatures.
With her husband, she spent years volunteering--with
the local little theater, the library, and town boards--along with teaching, managing a museum store, and other jobs both
full and part-time. Retirement meant time to indulge her lifelong ambition to write fiction. Her first short story was published
in 1987. Settling is her first novel to see print.
